Scope and mission
JOTS publishes multidisciplinary tourism scholarship, including theoretical, conceptual, empirical, and applied work. The journal is especially focused on tourism as a practical route into sustainable development, policy learning, destination management, and community impact.
The journal publishes biannual issues and welcomes research from established academics, early-career scholars, and practitioners whose work meets academic review standards.
ISSN / ISSN-L: 2515-6780. Publisher: OTS Academy, 8 Hutchcombe Farm Close, Oxford, OX2 9HG, United Kingdom. Publication schedule: two issues per year, normally May-June and November-December.
JOTS is open access and uses the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Authors do not pay submission charges, article processing charges, author fees, page fees, colour fees, or publication fees.
Submissions are handled through double-anonymous peer review. The journal reports an average publication time of about fourteen weeks, subject to editorial assessment, reviewer availability, revision quality, and production checks.
The journal uses Zenodo DOI infrastructure, including the 10.5281/zenodo prefix for archived records, and is listed in DOAJ.
